San Francisco Chinatown Evolving from the 1850s, San Francisco Chinatown is the largest and oldest Chinatown in North Amercia.
Kong Chow Temple,
冈州古庙 A Cantonese Chinese temple founded in 1849.
One of their most famous guests was Mrs. Harry Truman who visited the temple to pray for Mr. Truman’s election results and asked for a prediction of 1948 election.
Tin How Temple,
天后古庙 Founded by the Cantonese and dedicated to Mazu, Empress of Heaven, this is one of the oldest Chinese temples in San Francisco Chinatown. It is also probably the only Chinese temple with its own street name.
Atlanta Chinatown An instant Chinatown but with features of a standard Chinatown.
Oakland Chinatown A Chinatown next to the better well known San Francisco Chinatown. Less touristy but with an interesting history reflecting the changing tide of Chinese and Chinatowns in USA.
